Where Strong is the better pick

Strong is quick. Its logging screen is about as fast as a workout log gets, and lifters who just want to record sets often stay with it for years.

It also runs on Android and Apple Watch, and LiftCamp is iPhone only for now.

Where LiftCamp is the better pick

Strong's free version holds 3 routines. PRO unlocks unlimited routines, all charts, a plate calculator and a warm-up calculator.

LiftCamp gives you 31 ready-made routines for free and tells you what to do on each exercise, from your starting weight to the most common form mistakes and what to swap in when the equipment is busy.

Logging, your full workout history and your PRs are free in LiftCamp and always will be.

Switching from Strong

LiftCamp imports your Strong history. Export your workouts from Strong as a CSV file, then open LiftCamp and go to Settings, then Your data, then Import workouts.

Your workouts and sets come across with their real dates, so your PRs, progress charts, strength levels and streak medals pick them up straight away. LiftCamp matches each exercise to its own library, and you choose a match or skip any it isn't sure about.

Importing is free and needs a free LiftCamp account. Routines don't come across, so pick one of LiftCamp's or save your own after your first workout. If you change your mind, you can remove imported workouts in Settings without touching anything you logged in LiftCamp.

Which one should you use?

If you have your own plan and want the fastest possible log, or you need Android or a watch app, Strong does that job well.

If you're new and want a plan, a starting weight and a little coaching on every exercise, start with LiftCamp.
